In this video, I go over the different grips that you can have using the back trap system to control your opponent. This includes the harness grip, the kimura grip, wrist control, and the knee spreader.

If you are a student of the Kimura Trap System, you will be familiar with the transitions from the Back Trap System. This allows you to chain both of these powerful submission systems and become even more dangerous.

Many people have been trained to do rear naked chokes only from the classic back mount with hooks, and fail to realize that you do not need hooks to finish a rear naked choke. In fact, I would argue that it is more effective to finish without hooks as shown here.

The Serra Flip is an excellent way of gettin the back mount with hooks in. The name of the technique is in honor of UFC champ Matt Serra, who I learned this move off by reading an old grappling magazine. He used this effectively in the ADCC and I have been using it ever since.
